Paragon

Paragons are the ultimate manifestation of each person within n3. They represent the ideal character archetype that is loved by each

member. They usually are more powerful than regular characters, and involve a lot more character development and roleplaying details. Because of their nature, Paragons are under a constant state of development and optimization, and stories of their escapades are ever flowing from their creators. Paragon's are to represent everything that the n3 member loves in a D&D character, and to provide the most fun to their user. Because of the varying tastes and personalities within n3, Paragons range far and wide in type. Paragons, however, must adhere to certain restrictions laid forth by n3 as a group. A paragon must not only be the ultimate creation of a member of n3, but must also adhere to the rules forthput.

Restrictions

  • Must be L10
  • Is allowed 2 flaws
  • Is restricted to only 2 custom items (items with a spell imbued in them, look to page 286 in the DMG)
  • HP is calculated after the progression is complete. The character gets full HP from his 1st HD, half from his 2nd, full from his 3rd, etc. For an L10, it is a slight boost over 75% HP
  • Gets the usual 49,000g to purchase items. Can spend up to 50% on a single item
  • Do not suffer multi-classing penalties
  • Must use 28 point buy (Tougher Campaign) for ability scores ( see page, 169 in DMG)
  • (Add more that I may have forgotten)

Major Paragons

A major paragon is a character that is truly a persons paragon. They are the most fully developed characters, involving long hours of optimization, build revision, and story creation. Not many players in n3 currently have a major paragon, due to members unwilling to commit to a single character. Major paragons are played the most often, and are usually the most powerful characters.

Minor Paragons

Minor paragons make up the majority of paragons to this date. They include most L10's that n3 member create, and are usually played only a few times as the creator is testing them out. Very rarely does a minor paragon achieve major paragon status, as if the character needs testing than they don't usually have the devotion that a major paragon requires.

Good Paragons

A good paragon is just that, a paragon that is designed to be played in a good campaign. Every member of n3 is encouraged to have a good paragon, for the sake of partying and adverntureing with other paragons. This is pointed out because paragons are generally evil and self fulfilling.

Paragon Campaigns

Most campaigns played by n3 are paragon campaigns. Usually, the DM just sets up the initial scene and where the paragons begin. After that, the DM does little work besides control NPC's. The game is largely ran by the players, and paragon campaigns are infamous for PvP bouts breaking out.
